One of my most favorite things to do on the weekends is cook. I made this super yummy pumpkin coffee cake using the squash my daughter grew this summer. What a treat. I posted a link to the recipe. It is really easy to make.

Praise and the Growth Mindset

Has anyone thought about the effects of praise on performance? Watch this short video and let me know what you think. I feel strongly about the power of the growth mindset.

Helping those in need

Just wanted to share an Adobe Spark Video I made about a cause that I find near and dear to my heart.  Every Sunday our churches get together and feed those in need.  In need of food, friendship or spirit, all are welcome.  Please share ideas you may have to raise awareness or spread the word.

Great Article about the success of an educational blog

Hello,  I found a really great article below.  A teacher set up an educational blog to help her students with learning disabilities.  It turns out that this was a really great program and students did see an increase in effective writing especially when they were able to receive real time constructive criticism.  If you have time, take a look and let me know what you think.

Hello Friends,  Just wanted to introduce myself to you and let you know that this is my first attempt at a blog so bare with me.  I am a native Rhode Islander and would not have it any other way.  I find RI to be so beautiful in all different seasons.  My husband and I love to hike and have found really cool places all over RI to explore.  Sometimes we venture over to Connecticut and beyond.  I find hiking a great way to connect with each other.  My husband and I have had the best conversations while immersed in nature.

Here are a few pictures from places we have been.
